Chhabi Lal Lama is a herbal and handicraft business person. He is a retired government school teacher. He states that Nepal is naturally gifted and culturally rich country and the world can learn and take the satisfaction of its natural beauty. His interest in tourism field is from early childhood and he is very much passionate about this field and believes that the poverty and backwardness of Humla and overall Nepal can only be eradicated by promoting tourism.
Sagar Lama is from Humla district of Nepal and has an undergraduate degree in Business Studies from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. He worked as a research assistant to various international research scholars including Aditya Eggert, David Citrin, Timothy Harward and extensively traveled Himalayan regions of Nepal. He speaks Nepali, Tibetan, English and Hindi languages. The overwhelming natural beauty of Himalayas and culture developed based on the environment and ecology has fascinated him to engage in tourism entrepreneur. He has first-hand experience of poverty and inaccessibility in different parts of Himalayan regions of Nepal and he too believes that Tourism is the only means to end such difficulties.

Nabraj Lama is a researcher and social entrepreneur who has initiated many entrepreneurial initiatives, since his undergraduate days. He was also selected for his social entrepreneur project entitled “Women Awareness and Empowerment Movement” by Ashoka Nepal under its Bridging University Students (BUS) program in 2007. He holds MA in Economics and BA in Development Studies. He has extensive field-based research experience – both academic and developmental projects- with many national and international organizations such as Central Department of Sociology/Anthropology, Tribhuvan University; World Bank Nepal; Helvetas; Swiss Inter-cooperation Nepal; Heifer International Nepal. He has extensively traveled across Nepal and other few countries. The natural and cultural beauty that he saw during his travel and the challenges that he faced; and cooperation that he received from local people drag him into tourism social entrepreneurship. He aims to unfold diverse natural and cultural beauty of the country to his clients with near to perfect management of the trip.
Born and schooled in Nepal, Anil Chitrakar trained as an engineer and energy planner at the University of Rajasthan (India) and the University of Pennsylvania (USA). He has received the Ashoka fellowship and Rolex award for this. In 1993, he was one of the 100 “Global Leaders for Tomorrow” awardees at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Recently he has also been awarded the Tech Award in Silicon Valley for his work on renewable energy technologies. Currently, he works on expanding his work in renewable energy, biodiversity conservation, and heritage conservation. Anil was Chairperson of the Himalayan Climate Initiative and helped launch the 1550 km long Great Himalayan Trail in Nepal. He is also part of the Kailash Sacred Landscape team. Anil is currently involved in Smiling Eyes International as Senior Adviser and Consultant.
Mr. Chhakka Bahadur Lama was born in Nyingmapa sect Buddhist family in Nyin Valley, Bargaon V.D.C, Humla. His father was highly respected Nyingma Lama in that region. His father was also an Amchi (Tibetan doctor). Tshewang Lama has worked with numerous national and international academician regarding the Himalayan regions, tradition & culture of the people for long period of time. He has very deep interest in tourism development of Nepal. He believes that Tourism as the gateway for the development of rural area.
He was an ex-state minister of the government of Nepal. He is also an author of book entitle “Kailash Mandala”.
Mangal Lama is a President of Nepal-China Chamber of commerce, Humla District. He is well known face in Humla district of Nepal because of his many social development initiatives. He is a retired government school teacher. After completing 20 years of teaching services in public school, he worked in road construction project in Limi valley. He is very well known and highly respected in Limi valley, where he successfully completed the road connection work which was under construction in the last 20 years. He has very keen interest in tourism development in Humla and overall Nepal. He believes that the future of people of Humla district is completely based only on promotion and proper management of Tourism.
[Niraj Paija] is a lecturer of Tourism Economics and Econometrics at National Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management [TU], and Uniglobe College [PU] respectively. Since graduated in Master in Economics from Tribhuvan University, is interested in a role of Macroeconomics analyst, Environmental and Tourism Economics, working intensively on various research project related to tourism economics, “how tourism business enhances livelihood of local people and as a whole Nepal as well”. Highly motivated, resourceful and eager to gain experience within a large national level and policy institution. Result oriented with strong analytical skills and excellent knowledge of statistical tools and programming language.
Shankar Bhattarai is an ‘A’ grade tourist guide, certified by the Government of Nepal. He started his career as a teacher but he found himself more interested in history, culture, tradition and most importantly fond of traveling, so he gave up teaching profession and is involved in the tourism industry since a decade. He has a strong caliber to establish a strong relationship between the guests and the local communities. Learning attitude, enthusiasm on tangible and intangible heritage has made him a reputed tour guide in the city.
Rohit Dangol holds a government license for trekking guide in Nepal. He is involved in trekking since 2007, after returning back from Japan. He speaks Newari (Mother’s tongue), Nepali, Hindi, French, and Japanese at a fluent level. He has traveled to Mustang, Solukhumbu-Everest, Langtang, Ghandruk, Manaslu, Annapurna region, Pikey Pick, the lower region of Solukhumbu for several times. His passion is to travel and help other to travel.
